Sunday’s pretty much the only day I make a serious effort to cook. Frequently friends and family will stop by and they know Sunday’s the day at the Ramus house. We love grilling chicken or deer steaks, and eating Thai food.
Our friends Glenn and Thum were home from Thailand in October and November and unfortunately we only got to cook one real Thai meal together. Thum has taught us how to cook authentic Thai dishes – lap mu, papaya salad, sticky rice – and just when we perfected those she taught us something new this visit.
Thum loves cooking with us (okay, FOR us) when she’s here because we love her food. Many farangs (foreigners) don’t like spicy – but our family does.
Normally we get together almost every Sunday when they’re back in Pennsylvania, but this was a short visit. After enjoying watching Tim and his band last weekend, Glenn and Thum had to return to Thailand before Christmas. We’ll miss you guys!
